Hinojosa Packaging Group in collaboration with KHS Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for the beverage and liquid food industries, launches the innovative “BottleClip Carrier” system. This new sustainable packaging solution replaces plastic film with 100% recyclable and biodegradable cardboard, ensuring protection and convenience when transporting bottles. This system, in addition to reducing the use of plastic, reduces the use of energy in production processes and paves the way towards the use of more sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging and transport solutions.
The BottleClip Carrier is a response to the challenge of reducing the environmental impact of the beverage and packaging industry and the presentation of this effective design shows the commitment of both companies to sustainable innovation.
Efficiency and comfort
This new method, in addition to the exclusive use of cardboard, stands out for its efficiency and convenience. On one hand, the BottleClip Carrier makes it easier to grip the pack, making it much more comfortable and easier to carry. On the other hand, it stands out for its capacity and loading flexibility, being able to hold from two to eight PET bottles of different sizes, ranging from 200ml to 2 litres. The system, which uses only a single handle, employs adhesive points to join the bottles together, thus eliminating the need to use plastic film, cardboard, or paper to bundle the bottles together.
This innovative system is a breakthrough not only in sustainability, but also in efficiency, as it significantly reduces the amount of materials needed in the production process by up to 85%. In addition, after usage, it is possible to be recycled, as it is a 100% biodegradable product. This will not only reduce the environmental impact, but also will optimise resources.
Logistical ease and use of machinery
In terms of logistics, the BottleClip Carrier shows advantages concerning easier handling and improved space requirements for packaging. Its design allows it to be delivered in cartridges, which makes transport and storage much easier. In addition to reducing the operational effort, this system allows a more efficient usage of machinery, both in terms of operation and size – machine reduction of almost 4 metres.
Maximum efficiency and functionality
This solution has succeeded in a series of tests designed to ensure maximum efficiency and functionality throughout the entire process: from initial production to the arrival at the hands of consumers. These tests included handling, transport, and grip evaluations, which identified areas for improvement and allowed the optimisation of the product design. The main goal was not only to meet high-quality standards, but also to offer the best solution for consumers.
Looking ahead, this system has the potential to transform other sectors beyond bottle transport. Its adaptable design could be implemented in different types of products, increasing a positive impact by minimising the use of plastics in different industries.
