- Hinojosa will present its sustainable packaging solutions for canned, fresh and deep-frozen seafood, and the innovative Sumbox and Halopack packaging at the Conxemar trade fair in Vigo (7, 8 and 9 October).
- The company continues to invest in technology to improve customer service and has installed two new state-of-the-art offset press at their plants in Valladolid and Porto.
Hinojosa will be present again at Conxemar 2025, one of the most important international exhibitions for the frozen fish and seafood sectors, which will be held from the 7th to the 9th of October at the Instituto Ferial de Vigo (IFEVI). The company will be located at stand 3C30, where it will introduce packaging solutions to respond to the needs of the sector, with a focus on sustainability and logistical efficiency; and with the aim of meeting specific requirements of the fishing sector, which demands sturdy solutions to extreme conditions of cold and humidity during transport or at the point of sale.
Hinojosa Packaging Group arrives at this event with the recent installation of a state-of-the-art offset press at Graphicsleader plant in Porto. This innovative technology reinforces the group’s technical capacity and optimises the printing of sustainable packaging solutions. A few months ago, the same model was installed at Valladolid plant. This 8-colour, dual varnish tower press ensures consistent printing thanks to an in-line quality control system that compares the original design with production, as well as the fact that it contributes to sustainability by reducing waste.
Versatile, 100% recyclable and customisable solutions
Those attending the 26th edition of Conxemar will be able to get to know Hinojosa’s wide-ranging portfolio, in which two innovative alternatives stand out: Halopack by Hinojosa and Sumbox. Halopack is an FSC certified cardboard tray for ready meals that reduces the use of plastic by up to 80%, when compared to traditional trays. A flexible and sustainable packaging solution, designed to withstand extreme conditions of humidity and temperature. Sumbox is a 100% recyclable, waterproof, easily stackable, moisture-resistant and customisable alternative to polystyrene. In addition to protecting the product during transit, this design has a lower environmental impact and better brand visibility.
Another outstanding product to be presented by Hinojosa at Conxemar will be the boxes for fresh and deep-frozen seafood. Developed at Hinojosa Packaging Valladolid plant to withstand temperatures as low as -35 °C, they are previously subjected to a treatment that prevents humidity. This ensures durability in freezing conditions and in the several logistical challenges, without changing both performance and image of the product on the shelf.
In addition, Hinojosa will be presenting its packaging solutions for canned fish, with functional formats, high printing capacity, and careful aesthetics that enhance the premium positioning of the brands and the product.
With this presence at Conxemar 2025, Hinojosa shows the capacity to offer packaging that responds to new market demands, European sustainability regulations and logistical challenges of the sector. This is an example of how it is possible to combine technical innovation, supply chain efficiency and reduced environmental impact without compromising functionality and product protection.
