  • Hinojosa’s recyclable and renewable packaging withstands extreme temperatures and conditions of humidity, locking in the freshness and quality of fish and seafood as it is transported between continents

  • With more than 75 years of experience in the fisheries sector, Hinojosa continues to focus on its customers, on innovation, and on contributing to sustainable consumption

  • Products such as Halopack by Hinojosa and Sumbox, aimed at the entire fishing chain and designed to be in contact with fresh products, are some of the innovations that visitors can discover at the trade fair

With more than 75 years of experience in the fisheries sector, Hinojosa Packaging Group returns to Seafood Expo Global from 23 to 25 April in Barcelona. After the success achieved in 2023, our company remains committed to innovation and sustainability in its development of products for this industry.

Hinojosa, recognised for our innovative approach and our contribution to sustainable consumption, has extensive experience as a producer of packaging for the fishing sector. It is the Valladolid plant that will be presenting these solutions in Barcelona. 100% recyclable and of renewable origin, they have been designed to improve the conservation and good condition of the food, thus preventing it from spoiling and going to waste. We will exhibit different innovative box formats that have been optimised for the entire chain of the fishing food industry, from producers to large retailers.

This type of packaging developed at the Valladolid plant is able to withstand about 40 to 50 days at sea, travelling long distances by boat at temperatures ranging from 80 to -45 degrees, and in conditions of 99.9% humidity. Its capacity for endurance and adaptability is precisely what makes this type of packaging an essential choice for fish and seafood, guaranteeing their freshness and quality from moment they are caught to the tables of consumers in different parts of the world.

New solutions that preserve the freshness of the products

Hinojosa will display energy-efficient freezing boxes for wild fishing and aquaculture to make the freezing process shorter both on board ship and on land. In turn, small format solutions with high-quality printing for retail companies, such as canned goods, will be on display at the stand.

Other outstanding solutions are the 360 Green Packaging range. Halopack by Hinojosa, made from FSC-certified cardboard, resistant to freezing, water and high temperatures and manufactured using 100% renewable energy, contributes towards reducing the carbon footprint and single-use plastics by as much as 80% compared to the classic plastic trays. And Sumbox, designed for transporting fresh fish and seafood, is a 100% recyclable, airtight and waterproof packaging that preserves the excellence of the product throughout its journey, ensuring that its taste and aromatic and visual qualities remain intact.

With its wide variety of sustainable alternatives, Hinojosa is seeking to help companies promote more environmentally-friendly consumption models in the food sector. This commitment is in response to the necessary and urgent challenge of reducing plastic pollution, a significant environmental problem.
