Safety
The safety, health and well-being of our workers are priorities on which we base the development of Hinojosa.
At Hinojosa we consider human capital to be our main value and therefore the health and safety of our workers is crucial. Through our Safety Model, we are committed to integrating a preventive culture throughout the company.
The integration of efforts to improve safety is supported by each of our plants and the participation of our leaders. At Hinojosa, the Safety Model resonates throughout the organisation.
What do we seek with our Safety Model?
- To put into practice management’s commitment to safety and to the implementation of a strong culture of safety among all employees and at all levels of the organisation
- We want to ensure that the right measures are taken to identify and eliminate risks of accidents, while also improving safety through effective preventive measures.
- We ensure compliance with Hinojosa’s own standards, guidelines and procedures, as well as with regulations, and compliance with the relevant legislation
- We aim to adapt and monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Model with the contractors and subcontractors that work for us.
- Continuously improving the safety and health of our workers is another key objective. We do this by promoting the integration of the preventive culture at all levels and in all areas of the organisation.
- The management is committed to ensuring that resources are available for the correct implementation of the Safety Model.
At the same time, it is a participatory model in which the involvement of everybody at Hinojosa is essential for the detection and solution of the risks we may face.
Vision Zero
The Vision Zero programme has involved all the plants
At Hinojosa, we are aware that achieving zero harm is fundamental in any organisation. We also believe that reducing accidents in the workplace is not just a matter of numbers: it is a people issue.
Based on the premise that “All work-related accidents, illnesses and injuries are preventable”, the company participates in one of the leading cultural change programmes “Vision Zero”,sponsored by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), with the following objectives:
- Reinforcing the role of management and senior management in preventive actions.
- Analysing the areas in which the company can improve, by strengthening its commitment in this regard.
- Analysing possible ways to increase and improve the preventive culture within the organisation, by integrating all the preventive aspects within it.
