Premium Engagement Workshops: knowing how to design a better package

To create you have to share: knowledge, values, experience... Society, the times we live in, and the planet, call for more collaboration, for us to break the mould and to look beyond in community. At Hinojosa, we want to transfer to our customers all the knowledge we’ve gained over so many years, in order to help them make decisions and (together) create packaging solutions with impact.

Our day-to-day lives are full of decisions. Often, we make these on the spot, and sometimes we take time to meditate over them. At Hinojosa, we try to accompany and get to know our customers better in order to help them choose the packaging that best suits their product and their brand. That’s why, through our Premium Engagement Workshops, we turn our customers into packaging experts, so they can make the best decision and understand the industry (almost from the inside). 

Premium Engagement Workshops 2023: a year in facts and figures

In 2023, this initiative was run 19 times and had a total of 285 attendees. 

Our customers learnt about packaging through four different workshops that covered current industry topics; corrugated packaging management, eco-design, the circular economy, and offset packaging management and printing systems for all types of boxes.  

To run these workshops, we counted on the experts of the Tajamar Institute, trainers specialised in graphic arts who made the learning process simple, enjoyable and very productive. This was summed up by the attendees at the sessions, who described them as “enlightening and very helpful”, claiming that they “help us in our day-to-day work when it comes to choosing our packaging”. The positive messages about these workshops throughout 2023 have encouraged us to continue with them in 2024 and, what’s more, to strengthen them. Our plants in France and the Portuguese Hinojosa Packaging Graphicsleader are not far behind and, in the midst of their internationalisation, are also drawing in customers with this training initiative. 

Activities like this help us to better understand the customer, their needs and concerns, so that they can learn about the challenges and opportunities in our industry. All of this contributes a quality value that is in line with our purpose of adding value.  

Hand in hand: learning as a lever for transformation

A packaging solution is a team effort between Hinojosa and its customers. In our position as a strategic partner of the companies, we work hand in hand to innovate, create and construct a better packaging (and a better world). Activities like this allow us to develop packaging solutions that have an implicit positive impact that is aligned with the needs of our customers. 

The Premium Engagement Workshops are aimed at R&D managers, quality and environmental managers, purchasing managers, marketing managers or general managers. In addition to gathering their criteria and identifying their preferences, the attendees visit Hinojosa’s plants and experience packaging from the inside. 

Motivated by the sector’s and the clients’ own questions and concerns, we propose topical issues and analyse trends that challenge the industry. Throughout the sessions we also explored the challenges of a circular economy, which is a key area of our business model and a growing trend in the market. We help to identify environmental improvement actions applicable to each company’s packaging strategy, addressing the challenges that the circular economy poses for the packaging sector.

This initiative responds to the questions and motivations, as well as the concerns and challenges of the different companies. Helping our clients to think outside the box is the driving purpose of these workshops. (Together) we search for the best packaging solution to result in a well-rounded product.
